Coming to Church Welcome!

Interior of a church with wooden pews, red carpet, and a stained glass window.

Ushers

We have helpers at the door (Ushers) to help you if it’s your first time worshiping with us. They will give you a worship booklet and any other materials that may be used during the service.

Worship Bulletin

The bulletin is taken from The Book of Common Prayer found in the pew. It also provides the hymns and the page they can be found on in the hymnal also in the pew.

The Book of Common Prayer

At the heart of all Episcopal worship is the Book of Common Prayer (BCP). Our worship follows the worship patterns found in the many forms of services of the Episcopal Church. Our scripture readings are assigned by the BCP. In the Episcopal Church we read through the entirety of the Bible over a three year cycle.

Worship

Our worship services are interactive. While a priest leads the service, the congregation participates extensively— reading scripture, singing hymns, speaking or singing prayers, the Creed (statements of our beliefs), responses and psalms (sacred poems). You will also find that we are active in our worship as well, often referred to as Episcopal calisthenics! That is, there are times when we sit, kneel, and stand. The worship booklet and BCP provides direction. The Lord’s Supper (Mass/Eucharist) is celebrated regularly on Sunday’s.

The Eucharist is central to the Episcopal faith. We come to the altar broken people and made whole through the sacrament of the bread and wine (the Body and Blood of Christ).

Morning Prayer is generally held once a month and is a congregationally led service when our Priest is not serving that Sunday.

The Diocese of Spokane's Episcopalians infuse their services with their own traditions from around the world and give each of them a unique character. They lift up their voices to the Lord in many languages from Spanish and English, to Ibo and Portuguese, and in a multitude of rhythms from jazz to those of traditional choirs.

What happens after church?

Coffee Hour! – a time of fellowship and fun. We invite you to join us so that we can get to know you and you can get to know us!

We offer adult education and Sunday school for children.
Choose a class you would like to visit or have a cup of coffee and meet some members of the congregation.

When you visit, be sure to complete a visitor's registration card. We want the opportunity to meet you and help you find a place to serve and be served.
